CLIFTON, Colo. -

Two people are suffering from gunshot wounds after an incident in Clifton early Wednesday evening.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office tells KJCT News 8 that deputies responded early this evening to a home on Delicious Drive after reports of a suicidal man.

As they approached the home they heard a single gunshot.

Multiple people emerged from the home, with a man and woman both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries at this time.

At least two children and a third adult were also in the home at the time, though their relationship to the victims is unknown.

Deputies are working on obtaining a search warrant to process the crime scene.

At this point no arrests have taken place and nobody has been detained.

Sheriff's office officials believe the man with the gunshot wound is likely the suicidal male they were called out to the scene for in the first place.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident, and we'll have more information as soon as it becomes available.
