A memorial for the Snowmass ski patroller who died following an avalanche will be held Saturday at the resort.
Forty-nine-year-old Patricia Hileman died Sunday while skiing alone in a closed area, the Ship's Prow Glades. The 26-year veteran was swept over a cliff after triggering a small avalanche.
The Aspen Daily News (http://bit.ly/Zfzwfk) reports the service will be held at the Elk Camp restaurant on the slopes of Snowmass. People attending are asked to wear pink and bring their best stories about Hileman, the first person to die in an avalanche this season in Colorado.
Her death is being investigated by the Aspen Skiing Company, the Colorado Avalanche Information Center and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
