Roice Hurst and Walmart team up to help our area's homeless pets

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

Animal lovers can donate food and other needed items to the Roice-Hurst Humane Society October 12-14 at the Walmart at 2881 North Ave.

Donation bins will be located in the front of the store, where shoppers can deposit cat and dog food, toys, collars, leashes and other pet supplies to benefit the animals at the nonprofit shelter.

In conjunction with the three-day donation drive, Walmart is hosting an adoption event for Roice-Hurst from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12. A food wagon will also be on site, with proceeds going to the shelter.

Also sponsoring the event is Nestle Purina Pet Care Co., which will have a representative on hand with giveaways and pet food coupons.
