Sex trafficking is a growing problem around the world, even right here in Colorado.
Volunteers came together raising money to help the victims of these crimes.
Money is coming from events like "Retreat" which went on all day at Canyon View Park.
All the money raised is going towards buildings "Sarah's Home”, which will not only give victims a place to live, but provide education and counseling.
“Sarah's Home” will be the first of its kind in all of the state.
Mark Abney organized “Retreat”. He says, “Right now there are only 33 homes in America, “Sarah's Home” is number 34. From what I understand and what I’ve researched there's over 100,000 kids in America that are stuck in sex trafficking and we need more homes.”
Right now “Sarah's Home” is under construction.
Officials anticipate it to be fully functional and open by the beginning of next year.
