GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

Police are investigating a possible hit and run that left a local woman hospitalized with serious injuries.

Witnesses say that Amber Davidovich was near 9th and Main St. at about at 2:30 Sunday morning. That's when she was seen flagging down a dark colored Dodge Dakota.

Shortly after, witnesses say the truck was gone and Davidovich was found lying on the pavement with multiple injuries.

“We're hoping that there may have been other folks who saw something or heard something. They can provide that information to us. We're also looking for the driver of a dark colored Dodge Dakota pick up truck. We believe that was the vehicle the woman was trying to flag down that then left the scene shortly before she was discovered lying on the ground” said Kate Porras, Police Information Coordinator for the Grand Junction Police Department.

The woman was taken to St. Mary's Hospital and remains in serious condition.
