Police say man attacked another man serving him papers
Suspect alleged to have struck victim with gun
A Grand Junction man has been arrested for felony menacing and assault with a deadly weapon causing injury.
According to an arrest affidavit, police say Michael Rickards struck James Crespin with a handgun.
Crespin was serving papers involving a motorcycle that's not fully paid for.
Rickards allegedly answered the door and Crespin gave him the papers, but when he turned to leave he was struck on the lower left side of his head with the handgun.
Crespin went back to his vehicle and left the area, and was said to be afraid the man might shoot him.
The affidavit goes on to say that, when contacted by police, Rickards stated he never hit Crespin with a gun.
He also said he never owned a gun, but officials searched his house and found a b-b gun.
Rickards was arrested and placed in jail.
