GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

Grand Junction High School was locked down for about an hour Wednesday after police heard reports of a person carrying a gun in the area.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m.

Police were looking for a person on a bicycle who was seen with a handgun.

They located him and he was found to have a valid permit for a concealed weapon and was released.

Around 9:25 a.m., Grand Junction police gave the ALL CLEAR and normal operations were allowed to resume at the high school.

KJCT is asking on Facebook if you have a concealed permit to carry a weapon, and if so, are you always mindful of where you take your weapon.
