Around 10:30 a.m., KJCT heard reports of a small plane crash near Glade Park.
Our crew on the scene learned that there was one person flying the Ultralight Aircraft. James Dittrick, 74, wasn't injured in the crash. He refused medical help and wasn't taken to the hospital.
The crash occurred on Pinyon Park Lane, approximately three to four miles north of the Glade Park Store.
According to emergency personnel, Dittrick was taking off from a private runway when he caught a freak gust of wind that caused the wing to dip.
The plane then hit power lines before crashing to the ground.
Residents of Glade Park were without power, however, it has since been restored.
