GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

If you still aren't sure where to take your children trick-or-treating this year, there's plenty to do in Grand Junction on Halloween.

You can head to the Mesa Mall for the long-standing tradition, 'Trick or Treat Street'.

Mall officials say one of the best aspects to the event is that it allows kids to trick-or-treat safely and warmly from store to store, all while showing off their costumes and collecting a bag full of sweets.

Trick or Treat Street takes place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

There's also a Halloween Carnival taking place at Creative Avenues, located at 835 N. 26th St. in Grand Junction.

According to their website, the event is for children ages 3 to 10. There will be activities, games, face-painting, crafts, snacks and a spooky maze treasure hunt.

For all ages, they'll have free “Thriller” and "Monster Mash" dance workshops taking place at  7:30 p.m.

Proceeds for activities and concessions benefit the Youth Theater Project and Student Dance Company. For more information on the Halloween Carnival, call 970-255-6757.

Of course, there's always the good old-fashioned door-to-door method to trick-or-treating as well. If you take this route, make sure your kids' costumes are warm enough for the elements and bright enough to alert drivers.

It's always a good idea to keep an eye on your children and perhaps escort them through the neighborhood as well.
