Pitkin County commissioners are creating new guidelines for drone helicopters that take pictures around the city over concerns they violate privacy rights.
The remote-controlled helicopters are being used to give potential homebuyers a birds-eye view of property and for broadcasting bicycle races.
If passed, a new law would prohibit helicopters from filming in the area unless approved by the commissioners.
According to the Aspen Daily News (http://tinyurl.com/aqn45js ), commissioners want to develop guidelines for granting or denying a permit.
