Fire crews made significant progress Tuesday, upping their containment of the Pine Ridge Fire to 95%.
Officials say the blaze experienced no growth on Tuesday, keeping the 13,920 acre mark in place. Along with the progress, the number of staff fighting the fire has decreased from 520 to 450 as resources begin demobilization.
The cost of fighting this fire is currently estimated to be at least $2.9 million.
The Pine Ridge Fire was sparked on June 27 by lightning and was originally estimated to be burning 20 acres.
