A man is struck and killed during an accident in the Redlands.  The accident happened just after 6:00pm Tuesday.

Authorities were called to right outside Fire Station 5 in the Redlands after reports of a vehicle accident.

According to authorities, a male was hit by a pick-up truck while crossing Highway 340.

Colorado State Patrol and Grand Junction Police responded to the incident.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.  The investigation is ongoing at this time, the man's name has not been released.
