A Delta County jury has come back with a guilty verdict for a Paonia man accused of killing his wife back in 2011. 

According to the Montrose Daily Press, members of the jury found Nathan Yager guilty Tuesday of second-degree murder.

The decision comes without the mitigating factor of heat of passion in the death of his estranged wife Melinda Yager.

Yager had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
