Grand Junction city officials say the waterline break that closed a portion of Orchard Avenue on Wednesday has been fixed and the road is back open.
The waterline break occurred at 2834 Orchard Avenue at 10:30 a.m.
"We were able to quickly locate the break under the concrete and the repair went smoothly," said Ron Key, pipeline maintenance supervisor for the city of Grand Junction.
The road was closed to traffic between 28 1/4 Road and 28 1/2 Road for close to 6 hours.
The road was reopened at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to city officials.
There were 12 residences affected by the water outage as well.
