"I'm pretty stoked, I got to test it out yesterday and it was pretty glorious. I got pretty fast," said Sarah Blessington, Powderhorn Events Coordinator.
"It looks like so much fun we've been watching them as they go up but it looks really cool. I'm excited to do it"
Their motto is "the soul of skiing" but that's just one of the many things to do at the popular spot.
It's Powderhorn's third weekend of the 2012 & 13 winter season and resort officials say, so far things are off to a great start.
Sarah said, "We've been really fortunate a lot of people understood that we have amazing snow, we have gotten 32 inches in the past six days so we're doing pretty good."
Pass sales are right on target and everyone is clearly having a great time.
Today tube lanes were finally opened, and eventually more runs will be added.
"So far we just have our first tubing run open, and as we get more snow we'll be able to add our second run," added Sarah.
"We have no been tubing at Powderhorn, not yet. This will be our first time. Very excited," said a family tubing at Powderhorn today.
Tubing is available from 10:30 am to 5:00pm with a half day pass starting at 1:30.
For half days pass prices are $15 for adults and for children 13 and under are $12/
Powderhorn officials say they're thrilled to share the fun with their own community.
“I'm really excited to be able to offer this to Grand Junction and the greater western slope, and you know we're really fortunate to be able to do this and provide this service for our community," added Sarah.
