One Western Slope child is dead and another is moved to Children's Hospital in Denver.
Authorities aren't disclosing much at this point, but here is what we can confirm.
It was 6:30pm on Tuesday when dispatcher got a call saying two young children needed immediate assistance.
They were in a car on the side of Powderhorn Road just off Highway 65 on the Grand Mesa.
The Plateau Valley Fire Department responded to the call.
Before authorities arrived, CPR was already being done to one of the children. Later, he was confirmed dead.
The second child, a four year old boy, was air lifted to Saint Mary's Hospital.
According to authorities, the vehicle had not been in a crash.
The Mesa County Coroner and investigators worked through the night and continue today, looking for answers.
The coroner said due to the ongoing nature of the investigation he will not be releasing any information at this time.
The child at St. Mary's has since been transported to the children's hospital in Denver.
