No agreement has been reached on the details of a proposed groundwater testing system to better detect contamination from oil and gas drilling.
    
The Denver Post reports (http://bit.ly/Z7QH2a ) that regulators, industry representatives and environmentalists met Monday to examine details of a before-and-after groundwater testing system.
    
Regulators are also considering bigger buffer zones between gas and oil wells and buildings such as churches and schools.
    
Proposals include groundwater testing wells up slope and down slope within a half-mile radius of wells, while another calls for four water samples taken before drilling and two after to measure water quality.
    
Colorado Petroleum Association president Stan Dempsey says the industry realizes testing is necessary but the details need to be worked out.
