New traffic signal for Highway 50 drivers
Intersection will ease fairgrounds and local shopping traffic
The construction of a new traffic signal has been approved by the Mesa County Commissioners. It will be constructed on U.S. Highway 50 near the Mesa County Fairgrounds.
As part of a greater plan for the U.S. 50 corridor, the signal will provide easier access to the City Market shopping center in Orchard Mesa, across from the fairgrounds.
The main entrance to the fairgrounds has also been identified as a difficult intersection for drivers to use, so a new entrance to the fairgrounds is also expected to be constructed at that intersection in the coming years.
The cost of the new signal is expected to be around $640,000.
