GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

Jared Wright is once again facing criticism that could potentially hurt his campaign for House District 54.

When Wright was a police officer in Fruita, his superior received a complaint about him threatening a man over the phone. The case was turned over to the Grand Junction Police Department but no charges were filed against him.

According to police records, the threat happened March 27th of last year. Well before Wright even announced his run for office.

The alleged threat happened after members of Wright’s family had lunch together and negative comments were made about his wife.

After learning about what happened, Wright admits that he called his sister-in-law's boyfriend to confront him, but Wright says no threats were made.

The man who filed the complaint says he just wanted the instance to be noted in case something else happened in the future.
