A skier from New Jersey is dead after hitting a tree at a resort in Park City, Utah.
Authorities say 67-year-old William Kivet was pronounced dead at Park City Mountain Resort after the accident around noon Monday.
Park City Police Capt. Phil Kirk says Kivet had been skiing with a friend when he went off the groomed trail on the Silver King run and hit the tree.
It wasn't immediately clear what city Kivet was from.
