Murder conspiracy suspect found with escape plan
MONTROSE, Colo. (AP) - Montrose County authorities say they found a handwritten escape plan devised by a man charged in an alleged murder-theft plot.
Sheriff Rick Dunlap tells The Montrose Daily Press (http://bit.ly/TPbQNm ) the plan was found with 20-year-old Salvadore Cortez-Herrera on Thursday night, but there is no evidence that it had been passed to two other defendants in the murder-theft case.
Cortez-Herrera and Cody Bishop, of Montrose, and Jorge Ramirez, of Olathe (oh-LAY'-thuh), are accused of conspiring to break into a home, steal money, kill the owner and steal a car to leave town.
Cortez-Herrera now faces an additional charge of attempted escape.
