Morning power outage in Fruita
More than 2,100 were without power in Fruita including Fruita Monument High School and Fruita Middle School
UPDATE: Power was restored shortly after 8:30am. Phone lines were brought back online at Fruita Middle School at around 10:15am.
More than 2,100 started their week without power in Fruita Monday morning.
According to XCEL Energy's website, five outages affected a total of 2,149 people.
The outages began around 7:17 a.m. on Monday.
Officials said a feeder line was out, causing the power failure.
School District 51 confirmed that Fruita Monument High School and Fruita Middle School were without power in the early morning hours as well.
