More road construction is planned for downtown Grand Junction and it's expected to take nearly the whole week.

A street overlay project will take place from 7th Street to 12th Street on Grand Avenue.

Beginning Sunday night, construction crews will be preparing the roads for milling and tailing and lowering manholes and water valves.

On top of milling the pavement, crews will also be improving storm drains.

The work is expected to last until Thursday night.

Alternate routes are advised if you normally take Grand Avenue.
