Montrose County holds annual budget meeting
Montrose County holds annual budget meeting at Elks Civil Building
Montrose County is holding their annual budget meeting tonight and they want to hear from you.
The Board of County Commissioners, County Manager, and Finance Director will be gathering at tonight's meeting to discuss the twenty-thirteen budget for Montrose County.
Some of the items on the budget that'll be discussed are sales tax resolutions. They’re a combined 1.75% in sales tax and go toward road and bridge work and public safety. Officials encourage the public to come to the meeting and see how their tax dollars are being spent at the county level.
“I can't stress it enough. You know, the budgetary process is a direct reflection of how the county operates and what it plans to do as it operates for the coming year, and we need to have the public input and their involvement. So it's very important that they come”, said Ronald D. Henderson, District 1 Commissioner for Montrose County.
Tonight's meeting will be held at Friendship Hall in Montrose on N. 2nd Street. The meeting will start at 6 pm.
If you can't make it tonight, they will also be holding a second meeting next Thursday the 29th. That meeting will also be at 6pm at Friendship Hall.
