A local company told more than 100 employees they'd soon be out of a job on Monday. 

Choice Hotels International has a call center in Grand Junction but a French company is taking over at the end of the year and potentially out-sourcing all the jobs.

The call center located just off Highway 50 and 27 Road. The company says the lays off have nothing to do with the employees performance. In fact, officials say they were impressed with the work being done, and that's made it hard to close the doors.    

“Teleperformance” will take over the calls. It's a French based company with a U.S. head quarters in Salt Lake City. 

The company does operate worldwide and that means jobs could be going overseas. But officials say they are doing the best they can to help the employees being laid off.

“By offering out placement assistance, career development opportunities, classes for resume building and we're even going to organize a job fair for employees here,” director of public relation for Choice Hotels International Sarah Lee said.

120 people are being laid off. 25 people will remained employed but be moved to Phoenix, and the 40 people who work at home for Choice Hotels International will be re-badged to a company called “Sitel.” They are also going to get the same wages and benefits. 

The company tells us they don't think it will impact local hotels or guests.

Employees were officially told about the layoffs Monday, but they will still have a job until December 31st.
