PUEBLO, Colo. -

 A former Pueblo County sheriff's deputy accused of holding an ex-girlfriend against her will is subject of a manhunt in Elbert and El Paso counties.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports that 42-year-old Randal Scott Alire violated his bond earlier this month and is believed to be on foot in an open space near the El Paso and Elbert county line   (http://bit.ly/SlGYyG ).

Law enforcement officials searched for Alire late into the night Monday.
    
Alire missed a Pueblo court appearance earlier Monday relating to his Oct. 1 arrest for menacing with a deadly weapon and domestic violence after allegedly holding his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint.
    
Alire is on administrative leave from the sheriff's department, where he has been employed since January 2011.
