FARMINGTON, N.M. -

The man who tried and failed to stage a music festival in the Grand Valley last year is now a wanted man

Bobby Willis who tried to organize the aborted "Bobby's Birthday Bash" is on the run from police officials in New Mexico, according to an arrest warrant.

Farmington Police tell News 8 that Willis is wanted for embezzlement and fraud.

One victim told police that Willis stole $1.4 million from investors.

In May of last year, Willis tried to organize a festival to run at the same time as Country Jam.

But just prior to the event, Willis sent a letter to Mesa County Commissioners cancelling the event.  He gave no reason for the cancellation.
