On Monday, the Delta Police Department discovered the identity of the man found dead a week ago near the Gunnison River.
His identity is being withheld pending notification of family members. The Delta County Coroner?s Office will be performing the notification.
The Delta Police Department, Delta County Coroner?s Office, and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation performed a joint investigation into locating the identity of the man.
According to Delta Police Chief Robert Thomas, ?the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Delta County Coroner?s Office played a key role in making the discovery of the man?s identity?. Thomas says they're also very thankful for the assistance from the public.
