A man in a wheelchair was hit by a car crossing Grand Ave. near 17th St. this afternoon around 3:45pm.

The man was heading from the south side of the intersection to the north side when he was struck by a car traveling westbound.

The driver of the car stopped and was uninjured.

The man in the wheelchair was taken to St. Mary's with what are being described as serious injuries.

Police continue to investigate the incident, and we will bring you more once further information becomes available.
