Man found carrying knives into fed building
Police: Man says he didn't remember he had knives
A man was questioned at the Grand Junction Police Department after authorities said he carried two knives into the federal courthouse located at 4th Street and Rood Avenue.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
FBI agents, police officers and federal security guards helped detain the man.
According to Kate Porras with G.J.P.D., the man went into the courthouse to conduct business and apparently forgot that he had two concealed knives on him.
He was asked by security to take the knives to his car but he didn't have a car, so he just went outside the building.
Federal security guards confronted him and found him in possession of two knives, according to police.
Officers arrested the man and then released him on a summons for a misdemeanor charge of illegally carrying a concealed weapon.
