The Colorado State Patrol responded to an accident early Sunday morning on I-70.
The crash happened about two miles east of Fruita.
According to police, a 21-year-old man was driving eastbound in his Pontiac G6 when he ran off the left side of the highway and slammed into the center median.
The car rolled three times, ejecting the driver through the passenger-side window.
The driver was dead when deputies arrived to the scene.
Police tell us that alcohol is considered a contributing factor in the cause of the crash.
The Colorado State Patrol is continuing to investigate.
The identity of the driver should be released as soon as his family receives notification.
