Golden, Colo. -

An earthquake has been felt moderately by many people in the Bedrock area, in the Paradox Valley.

Bedrock is located in western Montrose county, about 10 miles from the Utah border. We have gotten many reports into our newsroom from folks who felt the earthquake in the Grand Junction area. No damage has been reported. 

The Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado reported the quake registered a magnitude 3.9 on the Richter scale, with an epicenter 35 miles east southeast of Moab, Utah or 56 miles southwest of Grand Junction.

The information we have from the Earthquake Information Center is preliminary. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available from the National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado.
