Longmont woman arrested in fatal hit-and-run
Longmont police have arrested an 18-year-old woman in a fatal hit-and-run near a fight that broke out on New Year's Eve.
Kendra Rae Balentine of Longmont was arrested Thursday morning following a tip from the public.
A 16-year-old Denver boy running from the fight was hit and killed just before midnight on Monday.
Investigators say Balentine was related to some of the people involved in the scuffle but they don't believe she intentionally hit the 16-year-old.
Commander Jeff Satur told the Longmont Times-Call (http://bit.ly/VlpzYm) that the fight was between a group of four white men and boys, ranging in age from 16 and 31, and a group of six black men in their 20s.
