Local organizations supporting grieving children
Before they graduate high school, one if five children will have someone close to they die.
To support to grieving youth, Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado is teaming up with local schools.
Children's Grief Awareness Day is observed every year on the third Thursday in November. In Grand Junction, however, it’s starting early.
Hospice held a special balloon release on Saturday. It’s to help children grieve and honor their loved ones who have passed.
Several local schools will host activities in conjunction with Children's Grief Awareness Day.
Kids will be encouraged to share their stories and support those coping with a loss.
Hospice is asking the community to wear blue on Thursday to show their support.
