A Grand Junction teenager has been nationally recognized for his top-notch archery skills. Now, he'll be working with Olympic trainers to sharpen his already impressive ability.

Caleb Miller turns 18-years-old this week.

He began participating in archery less than two years ago, but he's already been selected to participate in the Junior Olympic Archery Dream Team Training Camp.

The camp takes place all next week in Colorado Springs at the Olympic Training Center.

Ten youths, ages 12-18, are chosen from around the country to attend the camp, so Caleb's excited for the unique opportunity and he said he feels humbled by the recognition.

"It's going to be awesome, I've already done one camp where I got trained by Mel Nichols, which is one of our coaches, and this one is going to be even better yet," said Miller.

"My head coach is going to be the head Dream Team coach and then there will be four other that review everybody, so it's going to be neat," Miller added.

At the camp, he'll go through physical exercise to increase his strength, but he'll also be preparing mentally as coaches hope to get him on a fast-track to the Olympics.

Caleb is also the coach for the local Junior Olympic Archery Development program. He calls it Colorado Toxophilite.

Toxophilite translates to a student or lover of archery.

Miller said he wanted to create an early development program to make archery more accessible to kids in the Grand Valley.
