The Larimer County Sheriff's Office is using a mobile traffic camera to spy on panhandlers and enforce a new law.
Capt. John Manago says the camera is a highly visible deterrent that keeps panhandlers away from one of their favorite haunts, where asking for money is now prohibited.
According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan (http://tinyurl.com/bkr8twc ), the camera was bought with a grant. The only costs are fuel for a generator and the rare occasion that people are sent to cart it around.
