HOMETOWN: San Diego, California

EDUCATION: B.S. in Broadcast Journalism, Arizona State University; Phoenix, Arizona.

EXPERIENCE: As a kid, news was a staple in my household. I began in high school where I wrote for the school paper as well as a local San Diego paper. I always wanted to go into television, so I couldn't wait to go to college and try it out. I was involved in ASU's student television station for three years. Working for KAET on a public affairs show, as well as an internship with the investigative news team at ABC15 in Phoenix, gave me the news bug.

I took a semester away from Phoenix to study in Granada, Spain. At the Universidad de Granada, I took classes in history, language and geography -- all in Spanish! I've been lucky to travel all over Spain, Morocco, Italy, Portugal, France and England. Languages fascinate me. And boy do I miss the food!

Before graduating college, I was a reporter for Cronkite NewsWatch, a daily live newscast at ASU. I loved telling stories that competed with other stations in Phoenix. I covered international border issues and budget cuts in local schools. Here on the Western Slope, I will continue to learn. It's hard work, but rewarding every day.

INTERESTS: I have many! I love travel, animals, music, humor, food, adventure and exercise. I also enjoy meeting people and making new friends. If you see me around, come say hello.

FAVORITE LYRIC: Listen to your voice, the one that tells you to taste past the tip of your tongue. Leap in, the net will appear. - Jason Mraz
