A jury trial has been scheduled in the case of a western Colorado man accused of selling fake meteorites.

Steve Curry, 59, allegedly sold the fakes through a Grand Junction store. A city police department investigation uncovered the apparent misrepresentation by the self proclaimed 'Meteorite Man' from Montrose.

Curry faces Fraud Effecting Sales, Criminal Simulation of Merchandise, and Theft between $500 and $1,000 charges.

A one-day jury trial is scheduled for late August. Curry is also at the center of a state investigation into his meteorite-selling business.
