Hundreds seek employment at job fair
Job seekers in the Grand Valley got a chance to meet with potential employers face-to-face.
Tuesday, the Mesa County Workforce Center held its annual Jump Start Job Fair.
Dozens of companies, including KJCT News 8, were at the event.
It was a chance for employers to connect with applicants.
By noon, more than 700 people had already made an appearance.
The big crowd may have been discouraging for some but not for Judy Miller. She says she's optimistic about landing a job.
“It’s hard out there right now, trying to find something but I don't give up,” Miller said. “We are going to stick in there until we find something.”
Mesa County’s unemployment continues to be above the state's average, but the Workforce Center says at this year’s job fair it had more employers looking to hire.
