HomewardBound names new executive director
Douglas Karl to take over Feb. 18
The new year brings a new permanent executive director for the Grand Junction homeless shelter, HomewardBound.
For the past seven months, directors have been sifting through a long list of candidates to find the best person for the job.
They selected Douglas Karl of Arvada to assume the leadership position. He's currently in the process of moving his family to Grand Junction.
Officials said they're confident that Karl will be able to move HomewardBound into a new dimension as the facility continues to care for and assist the less fortunate.
Interim Director A.J. Johnson said they're looking at a smooth transition when Doug takes over on February 18.
When Karl arrives in Grand Junction, KJCT will bring you more information about his future plans for the homeless shelter.
