GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

In observance of New Year's Day, city offices will be closed on Tuesday and other services will be delayed.

According to county officials, closures include the Health Department and Human Services, the Clerk and Recorder and Planning and Public Works offices, all offices at the Old County Courthouse, the Regional Transportation Planning Office, and all Clerk and Recorder branch offices.

Mesa County Animal Services will also be closed on the first of January, but officers will still be on call in case of an emergency.

Non-emergency functions at the Mesa County Sheriff's Office will also be closed, according to officials.

No trash will be picked up on Tuesday; everyone's schedule will be shifted back one day. However, recycling will still be collected on Monday.

All downtown parking spaced in Grand Junction will be free until January 1.
