Although much of Western Colorado has been spared so far this fire season, local fire crews warn us there's a very real possibility of a large blaze hitting our area, too.
“If you do have a home that is kind of out in the rural area, be sure to clear all the brush and everything around your home, as well as your gutters,” BLM firefighter, Randy Jacks, said.
Here in Western Colorado, there tends to be a lot of dry, flammable brush in the area.
Fire restrictions are in place for much of the Western Slope.
The BLM is urging everyone to be extra cautious this summer to prevent more catastrophic fires.
