DENVER, Colo. -

More than one hundred gun control supporters rallied on the steps of the state capitol Monday to criticize a plan by the GOP to allow schools to decide whether employees could carry concealed weapons, and to call for measures to curb gun violence.

Together Colorado, a non-partisan, multi-racial, and multi-faith held what was called the "Let Us Live" rally.

Speakers talked about the importance of passing stricter gun policies, including State Representative Rhonda Fields, a Democrat from District 42.

"Thirty-three people are murdered a day because of gun violence," said Fields.  "What do you say about that?  Enough's enough."

According to the group, today's event was the first organized multi-faith gun violence prevention rally ever held in Colorado.
