GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

For the 15th year, City Market is supporting a local non-profit organization through generous donations.

Monday morning, representatives from City Market presented a $25,000 check to the Junior Service League.

The Junior Service League is a group of Grand Junction women who volunteer their time to raise money for the community.

This particular donation will help the battle against breast cancer here locally.

The funds are going to St. Mary's and Community Hospital to be used for testing, mammograms and biopsies.

"We're hoping to detect it, hopefully by stage one," explained Junior Service League member Amanda Piering, "And this goes for people in the community that don't necessarily qualify for medicaid or medicare but still can't afford it because they don't have private insurance."

Viva El Vino is the next big fundraiser for the Junior Service League.

It's a wine tasting event being held April 13th.

The money raised will allow the organization to continue to give out grants to the community throughout the year.
