GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. -

The world's "tallest" roller coaster is open to the public in Glenwood Springs.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park's newest attraction opened on Friday. Called the 'Cliffhanger,' it is literally perched on a cliff on Iron Mountain which overlooks the city.

The roller coaster's elevation makes it the 'tallest' in the world. It does not have a large footprint on the ground, but it is loaded with fast twists and turns.

It cost about $1 million to build but park officials hope the ride will bring in more people to the area.
