The Glenwood Springs City Council is considering another extension of rules for builders who are being asked to provide more affordable housing.
The city requires that 15 percent of houses in new residential developments meet affordability standards, including price controls and buyer income.
Those rules have been suspended for the last two years in an effort to spur building activity following a downturn in the real estate market because of the economy.
According to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent (http://tinyurl.com/bdvjjzc ), the council is concerned the rules could further impact housing development.
