GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

Like most years, 2012 had its up and downs for people in Western Colorado.

There have been natural disasters and horrific tragedies, but also acts of love and charity.

Most people we talked to are optimistic for the New Year, saying they'll try to make it even better than this one.

We asked people to look back and share some of their best memories from 2012.

“My favorite memory is shaking hands with Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan,” Louis Dunn said.

“Helping my 16-year-old grandson get his drivers license. We had a lot of fun learning to drive,” Sam Susuras said.

“Riding over the national monument in an antique motorcycle with a side car,” George Krug said.

We’d love to hear what some of your favorite memories are. Join the conversation on our Facebook page. Just search KJCTNews8.
