GJ Lions parade down Main Street
Downtown Grand Junction looked more like a circus on Saturday. Hundreds strutted their stuff down Main Street. It’s all in an effort to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single day.
The Grand Junction Lions have hosted the annual parade and carnival for nearly a century now.
It’s the group’s biggest fundraiser and each year more and more money is raised.
The theme this time around is "Under the Big Top"
The money collected from the event will go to over a dozen organizations right here in Grand Junction.
“Everybody in the community just gives back and it's a wonderful day,” Grand Junction Lion, Darren Cook, said.
Since the club started holding the parade and carnival back in 1929, they've donated over $4 million to local community groups.
