GJ Gladiators football game cancelled due to fire
Saturday night's Grand Junction Gladiator football game was cancelled due to the Pine Ridge Fire burning near De Beque.
According to a team representative, the semi-pro squad was to host the Douglas County Reign at stocker stadium before the league commissioner nixed the plans.
On the team's website, representatives suggest the smoke and I-70 closure uncertainty were driving factors in this decision.
The team is currently working to rescheduled the contest.
