G.J. company takes the pain out of recycling
First company to offer single-stream recycling in Grand Jct.
A Grand Junction company is hoping to make it easier for you to recycle. Owners say their service is the most comprehensive recycling program available on the Western Slope.
Commercial Refuse Service has been in business for a little over three years.
It's a full-service trash company that operates in Grand Junction, Delta and Montrose. But for all of its residential customers, a free recycling service is also available.
You can either bring in your recyclables to their business, located at 725 23 1/2 Rd in Grand Junction, or one of their drivers can come to your home once a month for pickup service.
In addition to the free service, what makes the business so unique is the single-stream recycling service that's available.
"The great thing about single-stream recycling, for the end user, it is perfect for them because they don't have to do a whole lot of anything, they just take it, put it into a trash can, if you will, and then we pick it up by the curb, they don't have to have five or six bins that they separate," said Rick Beckner, Co-Owner of Commercial Refuse Service.
According to Beckner, this is the first company in Grand Junction to offer single-stream recycling.
Owners hope by making it easier to recycle, nobody will have an excuse not to. They say their customers are responding well to the service so far.
Once they pick up your recyclables, they have to transport it to Denver.
Beckner says the service is great for the individual, but it also alleviates the volume of garbage that gets taken to the Mesa County Landfill.
Commercial Refuse Service also offers trashcan cleaning services.
Residential service costs $50 every three-months for garbage pick-up and that includes free recycling.
